Letter from the Chapter
Dear Potential New Member,
We are so excited that you are considering Greek life! We are pleased to be able to share our experiences in Sigma Kappa with you.
Many of us were not interested in going Greek when we came to Marietta. Some did not know what Greek life was while others thought that it certainly was not for them. Whether because of the encouragement from a friend who was going through recruitment or because of the opportunity to meet people, we all ended up in Sigma Kappa—and could not be happier about it! Sigma Kappa is more than a club or group of people to hang out with; Sigma Kappa is a home. It challenges you, pushes you, and asks you to look deeper at who you are and where you dare going. It provides unwavering support and encouragement when you need it the most.
If you decide to go through recruitment, you may feel overwhelmed at times but embrace it! You are being given a wonderful opportunity to meet many new people who genuinely want to learn about you. (The food is always pretty delicious as well!) Don’t hesitate to ask questions—and a lot of them! Learn as much as you can. Most importantly, be youself. You do not have to be a certain type of person to fit into Greek Life at Marietta College. We embrace all personalities and would love to welcome you into our home.
